How is horse racing even allowed to be a sport?
It’s completely un ethical…..ive read numerous articles where they’re like “it was only a minor shin splint” is’nt this obviously caused by the trainer exhausting it..? and then after barbaro’s ankle shattered? how has this not been addressed? does anyone agree with me? i can’t belive no one’s fighting to ban horse racing.
Its people like you, that pissin’ an moanin’, that ruin the world…………………..

Thoroughbred Industry Careers?
Where can I find out about what kind of money you make in the different fields of horse racing. I am doing a report for my college and career class but I have been having a hard time finding out what you make in the different fields, both business and horse side of it.(ex: jockeys, trainers, bloodstock agents, breeders and the people who handle the business sides of the track)
why dont you contact one of the major horse studs, like….. coolmore or darley, im sure if you explain what your after they be to happy to help!

hi, i urgently need to know how to find out how much betfair market % has been bet on particular horse?
hi, a particular guide i am browing thru requires me to know how much money matched in a racing market has been matched on a particualr horse for example, newcastle 14.05 pm, on horse named Akeela. It requires at least 60% of the money matched to have been macthed on that horse. How can i find out? By cliking some buttons in betfair? Reduction factor etc?? PLesae help guys
To do it manually, you can get the traded volume from the Betfair website by clicking on the horses name. Below the chart is the total traded market volume and the traded volume for that particular horse. You can then work out how many percent of the market that particular horse holds. The reduction factor on that same screen will give you a rough estimate too, although that will only be updated periodically, whereas using the traded volume to calculate the percentage would give you a ‘live’ value.

What is the mose effective way of Handicapping a Horse Race?
I really love horse racing and have just started reading the DRF and numerous other websites concerning handicapping. I guess my main question besides knowing if there is an effective way to handicap is trying to figure out the value of information on a program. for example is the class a horse is racing in more valuable than the jockeys win %. any help is appreciated because i really love horse racing and would like to maybe see a method to all this madness!!
Hi, A lot goes into effective handicapping. One huge thing is to know the sire and Dam how their progeny have performed. This is where your PP’s,(past performance) comes into play. The class they race in is also a huge factor, so you need to learn what these classes consist of. For instance allowance races, maiden, claiming, and certainly graded stakes races, etc. The higher grade a race is, the better horses will run in it. Jockey’s also play an important factor, as do trainers, owners, etc. My best information comes from knowing how to read the racing form. It will tell you who all is involved with the history, and training of each horse in that particular race, and how the horse has performed in previous races. It really is gaining knowledge about how to handicap, and learning all of these factors will be of great help to you. Good Luck

Live in Pimlico, no car, need to get furniture for room, preferably Ikea as good value. Any suggestions?
Ikea delivery is very expensive and the stock they deliver is very limited.
Other furniture retailers who are good value for money would be good suggestions.

Best idea is to hire a van from Victoria there are quite a few places there. If you amortise the costs over the price of all the furniture you buy it should be cheap enough. If you don’t drive hopefully you have a friend that does. The better IKEA is Croydon not North Circular Road. I’ve looked for alternative furniture shops and they are very few and not very good value. IKEA is still very good value and all their stuff seems to last. If you get really stuck leave me a note and I’ll drive you.
