Do you think the Scottish League is getting stronger?
Athough it’s probobly still a two horse race. Is our league getting better or does it need change to to make it more competetive. Would a pyrimid system such as the one used down south be a benifit? Or do we need to rid ourselfs of the big to have a real competition.
Btw if you answer this question and are from England and have a poor opinion of our little league – you should no your not clever just sad. Otherwise all answers welcome (apart from mabe yanks without a clue! – thats worse)
Well i stay in England, and i prefer to watch Scottish football, i support Hibs as my father used to play for them, i have sentanta only for Scottish football.
Yes i do think Scottish football is getting stronger, its starting to recover from the days when they were buying in useless forgin players, the other clubs may challenge the old firm on the odd season but there buying power will always win them the title.
It really annoys me the people down south who state the Scottish league and think there league is the worlds best (well if that’s the case why ain’t all the best players in there league?) its getting taken over buy forgin directors forgin mangers and forgin players, it wont last, and when they all go away, the state the English game will be in a mess, just look at the impact its having on the English national team but the fans are blind to whats happening they only look at the short term, more fool’s them.
Another thing that annoys me is they always go on about Scotland is a 2 horse race, yes this is true, but please tell me is there another league in the world that is not?? yes you might get the odd team making a challenge but once in a blue moon that will happen.
I also think its time for a chance in Scotland to two 18 team leagues, and then a regional pyramid system after that with th eteam from the highland league southern league and the ambitious junior teams, the only downside to this would be near the end of the season, the teams in mid table would have nothing to play for, shame really.
