Kentucky Derby Camping?

Okay, so I know there is the Metro KOA and the way-out-there Shepardsville KOA … but does anyone know any locals who take tent campers in their backyard? I’m specifically looking for something that isn’t too far from the track or Bardstown Rd. since that’s where we will heading after the main event to party down … so basically I’m looking for Louisville metro locals who take campers for not-to-crazy amounts and won’t steal our stuff :) I don’t mind sleeping in my tent ….

Do you have a lead?

I live in the Bardstown Road area. I don’t know of anyone with campers in the backyard. I think the neighborhood association would get upset. There are two parking lots at Cardinal Stadium for Churchill Downs on Derby Day. The cost is $10.00. You can go south on Floyd St from Eastern Parkway to get there. People stay there late Saturday night after the Derby. Maybe you can stay the night??
