do you bet on the jockey or the horse?
well i had the thought in the car today i should put a 2 spot calvin borel today since he was having a good day and I just like him (won me the money with street sense and he’s just so likable ) anyway I got to the track and forgot to bet on him,anyway just wonder if you bet a jockey and not so much the horse when a jockey gets hot on a race day? Not that the horse wasn’t very good (nice pedigree) I bet Birdstone’s stud fee just went up!
i really don’t think they decide who wins they all want to be in the money because otherwise they may only get a small fee can be less than 100 bucks but if they win they take home a lot more like 150000 for big race like the derby
I always put an “insurance” bet on Borel at Churchill because he slips up the rail a lot to pull off upset wins or get a lousy horse on the board.
I only put a $1.00 insurance bet on him today because I didn’t know anything about the horse. But that horse looked great, like somebody shot him out of a cannon.
