Kentucky Derby Questions?
Is there an age limit on attending the Kentucky Derby? I’m currently 19, and go to a lot of horseracing with my dad, and would like to take him.
Do you have to buy tickets in advance? How much do they cost? For two people? Is food expensive at Churchill Downs?
I’m not always up on fashion or high quality clothing, but am willing to buy and wear it, What is typically worn by women? Does the clothing vary by where you’re sitting?
I know it’s a lot of questions, but I appreciate any and all answers.
Hi Scoop,
I don’t think there is an age limit to attend. If you are 19, you are certainly old enough
It is always wise to buy tickets in advance. The Derby always draws a huge crowd.
Some women wear fancy hats and dresses and high heels. I go to New York every year for the Belmont Stakes and I always want to be comfortable. I wear walking shoes, or tennis shoes, slacks and a nice shirt. There is a lot of walking, and if you wear heels, you will be very uncomfortable. You do see people with the fancy dresses and hats, limping around with heels, but that is mainly expected of owners and trainers female connections. If you want to be comfortable, wear comfortable shoes. The clothing you wear is really your choice. Here is a ling that you can call and find out about tickets. Good luck and have a great time at the Derby.
