Todd Pletcher

Primary Tracks: Belmont, Aqueduct, Saratoga, Gulfstream Park

Pletcher got his training start under some of the all-time greats working with Charlie Wittingham and most prominently with D. Wayne Lukas. Under Lukas Pletcher took over the east coast string of horses until eventually going out on his own in the mid 1990’s. He wouldn’t break onto the scene as a major player until 2004 when he earned a win in the Kentucky Oaks with Ashado and 2 Breeder’s Cup victories with Ashado and Speightstown.

Although Pletcher was flourishing on the track, it would take him 16 years to saddle his first Kentucky Derby winner when Super Saver won in 2010. He has since added 1 more Derby to the trophy case with Almost Dreaming in 2017.
