Some of the top races for Oct. 20 will take place at Finger Lakes, Indiana Downs, and Parx Racing. Let's take a look at some of the top picks for each track.

Finger Lakes (Race 8)

Race 8 at Finger Lakes is a $5,000 claiming event covering 5 1/2 furlongs. It is open to 3-year-olds and up which have never won four races and will include nine runners.

The top picks for Race 8 are the #9 Showmanship and #8 Mrs. Robin E.

Owned and trained by James Acquilano, Showmanship is coming in at 7/2. The 4-year-old gelding from First Samurai has a career record of 3-1-1 from 12 starts and earnings of $38,393. 

He has one victory and one third-place run this year. The third-place finish came last time out in a Sept. 22 claiming race, and the victory was in a July 21 claiming race at the track. 

Besides overcoming the outside post, Showmanship will also have to get by Mrs. Robin E., coming in as the 1/1 favorite. The 4-year-old gelding from Honorable Dillon is owned and trained by Jeremiah Englehart. 

He is 3-2-1 from eight career starts and has earnings of $30,720, with two wins and one second this year. Those two wins came in his most recent performances, claiming races at Finger Lakes on Oct. 5 and Sept. 14. 

Indiana Downs (Race 5)

Race 5 at Indiana Grand Race Course is an allowance race with a $37,000 purse. The event for 3-year-olds and up will cover six furlongs and have eight runners.

The top picks for Race 5 are the #7 Colonel Hubert and #8 Our Neighbor Boys.

Adamson Investment and Rockfield Farm's Colonel Hubert is coming in at 4/1. The 3-year-old gelding from Noble's Promise is trained by Genaro Garcia. 

He is 1-1-0 from six career starts and has earnings of $32,270. 

Last time out, he finished fourth in a Sept. 29 allowance race at Indiana Grand Race Course. His one 2020 victory came in a July 16 maiden special weight race at the track. 

He will be up against the 7/2 Our Neighbor Boys, owned by Gary Tussey and trained by Paul Holthus. 

The 3-year-old gelding from Mondavi has a career record of 1-1-2 from nine career starts and earnings of $39,540. This year, he has one win, one second, and two thirds from seven outings.

He is coming off a disappointing eighth-place finish in an Oct. 13 allowance race at the track. The victory came in an Aug. 20 maiden special weight race also at Indiana Grand. 

Parx Racing (Race 8)

Race 8 at Parx Racing is an allowance race with a $35,000 purse. The event for 3-year-olds and up will cover seven furlongs and include a field of nine. 

The top picks for Race 8 are the #2 Puttheglassdown and #1 Irish Cork. 

Gold Square's Puttheglassdown is coming in at 3/1. The 4-year-old Violence colt is trained by Kelly Breen. 

He is 3-4-1 from 15 career starts and has earnings of $164,544. In 2020, he has just one win from four outings. 

His most recent run was a fifth-place finish in a Sept. 29 allowance race at Parx, and the victory came in a Feb. 21 allowance optional claiming race at Laurel Park. 

The morning-line favorite at 5/2 is Irish Three Racing's Irish Cork, trained by John Servis. 

He has a career record of 2-5-2 with $127,300 in earnings. Irish Cork has been very active this year with two wins, four seconds, and one third from seven races. 

Last time out, he took a Sept. 22 allowance race at Parx Racing, which followed a runner-up effort in an Aug. 31 allowance race at the track.
