Samcro may join stablemates Delta Work, who was last year's winner and Presenting Percy in his first try at three miles under rules at Leopardstown's Savills Chase.

This will be Samcro's first try run under rules in over three miles, and having that on the Leopardstown ground over Christmas, could have a good outcome.

This could become one of the most intriguing runnings of the 3-mile test in recent times, with the possible presence of last season's Marsh Novices' Chase hero, Minella Indo, A Plus Tard, Fakir D'oudairies, Kemboy and Champ all vying for a win.

For a third time, having secured two wins, Trainer Gordon Elliot would be looking to snatch another win come December 28, with a 150,000 euros prize money. He is confident that there would be a visible improvement expected from Delta Work after placing the fifth position at the Down Royal in October, losing to The Storyteller. He was of the opinion that Presenting Percy also stands a chance to snatch a win with its worthy credentials, having finished fifth about 12 months ago.

Below is an excerpt from his statement about Samcro in the Savills Chase.

"It's quite possible that Samcro could run in the Savills Chase," said Elliott. "It'd be his first run under rules over three miles, and trying that on what's likely to be decent ground at Leopardstown could be a good option."

He went on to say the Delta Work has naturally progressed throughout the season as it has done in the past. He reinstated his happiness with Delta work's run at Down Royal and is confident Delta Work will come to the race with more of that.

About Presenting Percy in the forthcoming race, he said that they were excited to see Presenting Percy's outcome in the race at Thurles, stating that he is in good form and should capitalize on that. Find an excerpt below.

"We were delighted to see Presenting Percy do what he did at Thurles last time. He's in good form and should come on from that. He probably doesn't have that much to find to be in the mix."

Gordon Elliot, who is a Gold Cup and Grand National-winning trainer, has not canceled on running Ladbrokes Champion Chase hero, The Storyteller in the Savills Chase. But the Christmas Hurdle is under consideration. This is a tournament Gordon Elliot has won four times in the last five years. About The Storyteller, he said while he has an alternative of running in the Christmas Hurdle, which he might likely go, he has an entry in the Savills. Find the excerpt below.

"The Storyteller has an entry in the Savills but also has the option of heading for the Christmas Hurdle over three miles. He's got some good form over hurdles, and it's possible he could go there. Fury Road could run in the same race too."

Abacadabras, the leading Unibet Champion Hurdle contender, is also featured in the race representing Elliot in the Grade 1 Matheson Hurdle, which is scheduled to hold on December 29.
